With another presidential election coming up this year, American citizens are conflicted over which of their two candidates to choose from. President Joe Biden has recently been doing poorly in the polls, with an average approval rating of just 38.7%. Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, had an average approval rating of 49% near the midway point of his 4th year as president. This is extremely dangerous for Joe Biden, as no president in recent history has been able to continue to a second term with an approval rating below 40% this close to the election.
Not only has the Biden Administration lately been staggering in popularity, but the president himself has done a multitude of things that raise concern about his current mental health and whether he is still fit for a second term as president. He has been clearly disoriented, unable to form proper words, and wandered off to random places numerous times, showing an alarming lack of mental focus. Even when he was asked in a press conference about how he is doing mentally, he was unable to answer the question properly, along with several other questions.
Even Special Counsel Robert Hurr has stated that Biden cannot be prosecuted after leaving documents containing American secrets in his garage because he lacks the mental capacity to be prosecuted. As Hurr stated, “based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him, by then a former president well into his eighties, of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.”
Meanwhile, Americans are also embarrassed with how Biden has represented the nation on the geopolitical stage, confusing Canada for China, Egypt for Mexico, Emmanual Macron for François Mitterrand.
With many other serious concerns for Biden’s health, and new ones coming about every week, Americans are far less eager to vote for the current president, with a large handful of citizens seeing him as an unfit candidate for the role of Leader of the Free World. Whether Joe Biden will be able to overcome these obstacles or not will be the subject of much discussion amongst the American voters over the coming months.
